Colin is a Central California based artist, illustrator and designer. As a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, he manipulates digital and traditional illustrative techniques to render balanced compositions and designs. Colin’s style is a graphic hybridization of influences such as comic books, graffiti, science fiction, spirituality, and the flora and fauna of the natural world. Growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, he was surrounded by a rare mix of urbanity and nature. These themes appear in his work, primarily to embrace the interdependence that exists between man and nature. He relies on devices of symbolism, symmetry, and implied narrative to create cryptic and organic images that encourage the viewer to delve into the work. His surreal environments often suggest evidence of human presence and evoke a romanticized vision of symbiosis.
